Location7358; Rock Meadow, Belmont
Sunday, April 18, May 16, July 18, August 22, September 18, October 10
Learn to identify healing plants in our area. Medicinal plants are everywhere -
in our backyards, along the streets we walk, and in open spaces all around us.
We will look at plants ranging from the familiar: dandelion and plantain, to
the less well known: motherwort, burdock, Solomon’s seal, ground ivy and elder.
You will learn which parts of the plants are used medicinally and how they nourish
us and support health.
Directions to Rock Meadow
From Rt. 2, get off at the Rt. 60 exit (Arlington & Belmont Centers). Turn
onto Rt. 60 (Pleasant St.) headed toward Belmont center. Continue until
you come to the third traffic light at Concord Avenue. Turn right on
Concord Ave. and go up and down a large hill. At the bottom of the
hill, bear left at the Colony gas station and turn left onto Mill St.
You will go less than a quarter of a mile and will see a sign on the right.
Turn onto the road and park in a small parking lot by the entrance to Rock Meadow.

neglect ourselves. In this day of Herbal Pleasure, we'll pamper
our feet, hands, shoulders and head, while the rest of the body
melts into the sensations. In the process, we will also learn
how to make herbal beauty products. Here is what we will do:
- Create a relaxing aromatherapy formula.
- Make and give herbal foot scrubs and herbal foot baths; give
and receive foot massage with aromatic, natural lotion.
- Release tired hands and wrists with oil massage,
an herbal hand soak and a fruit-based cuticle cream.
- Make an herbal steam facial and honey-based mask,
and then give and receive a facial massage with organic, handmade face cream.
- Learn Indian head massage and then finish the day with a
warm oil infusion to condition your hair.
- Sip relaxing teas throughout the day.
